This may sound like a stretch or longshot; and maybe it does and/or will be one.
But nevertheless, talks of additional Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass, especially after Wave 6, have been happening for quite some time ever since Wave 4.
One reason that some people theorized that we may get additional Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC beyond Booster Course is due the fact that ever since the Wave 4 full trailer, the formats have changed to have the details "Wave 1-6" shown in the big red circle at the top right corner of the screen where the number of total Booster Course Pass courses would be detailed.
Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg-YQ1k57Gg
Although this change seems minor, some have believed that it is a sign that perhaps after Wave 6 of the Booster Courae Pass, there could be even more Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC to come.
Another reason that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe could have additional DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass is the fact that Mario Kart Tour is NOT slowing down in terms of content, and a good number of people pointed that out.
Yes. I did originally assume that by the time Wave 6 of the BCP comes, Mario Kart Tour may not last long & will eventually discontinue. But as I had said with any other topic, I could be wrong.
Either way, we all know for a fact that Booster Course Pass was most likely made as a means to preserve as much of Mario Kart Tour's content as it can, and even with Wave 6's eventual arrival, there will still be a huge ton of Retro Tracks that have yet to be preserved, such as fan favorite Retro Tracks like DS Airship Fortress, Retro Tracks to be remade like GCN Mushroom City, and so much more.
And that's not even to mention the fact that Mario Kart Tour could add even more new tracks, ESPECIALLY new city tracks.
We've still yet to see track taking place in cities located in continents like South America & Africa, such as Rio de Janeiro, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Cairo, and more.
Not to mention other real-world locations that Nintendo may end up using for more City Tracks like the Bahamas; the Caribbean Islands; more locations in Canada and the United State; and more.
But if we get more Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass, we all know what content NEEDS to matter the most, and they are as follows...
- Characters: Although we still have 5 unknown upcoming characters left at the time of this update, additional characters would be the biggest form of content that any additional DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe beyond the Booster Course Pass should add the most.
While we don't know what the 5 current upcoming are, a lot of us know very well that there are quite a number of fan-requested characters like Pauline, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Petey Pirahna, Kamek, Dixie Kong, Hammer Bro, and more.
And Mario Kart Tour has a number of characters (NOT counting alts) that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has yet to get, whether they'd ones that some are split upon like Nabbit; ones that some outright despise (or, at best, indifferent) like Peachette; or new favorites like Poochy.
So to conclude this section, any DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass might as well put a heavier focus on characters more than anything else.
- Vehicles: Another form of content that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass should put a heavier emphasis on, along with characters, is vehicles.
With certain Mario Kart vehicles still retaining their cameos on certain tracks, as was the case with Bangkok Rush featuring Flame Flyer from Mario Kart Wii and Royale from Mario Kart DS, it would be wise of more vehicles get added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Of course, the majority of additional karts might as well be from past Mario Kart games, such as the afoorementioned 2 karts in the cameos from Bangkok Rush, along with others such as the Wild Wing and B-Dasher Mk. II from Mario Kart Wii, the Streamliner from Mario Kart DS, the Wario Car from Mario Kart Double Dash, the Super Pipe Frame from Mario Kart 64, and more.
And this is not even to mention that a small number of people have theorized that more vehicles could come to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because of the Mario Kart crossover toys with Hot Wheels, as shown in the link below.

So to finish this section off, in addition to characters, vehicles should be of heavier emphasis if Mario Kart 8 Deluxe were to get more DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass.
- Others: And to conclude what else could be added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in DLC beyond the Booster Course Pass in addition to characters and vehicles, other forms of content that could be added would include more gliders & wheels / tires (particularly from Mario Kart 7 & Tour), more power-ups (Mega Mushroom, Ice Flower, Fake Item Box, etc.), and more (Mirrored 200cc, Reverse Tracks, Vehicle Paints, etc.).
Now we don't know for sure if we'll get even more Mario Kart 8 Deluxe content beyond the Booster Course Pass; but it certainly is something worth talking about given the fact that a good number of others have talked about the same thing before I did.
Until then, Iet's look forward to what's to come to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via the current DLC in the form of the Booster Course Pass. Still hoping Pauline will be among the 5 upcoming characters to make it into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Good luck. And keep spreading the word on our desires to everyone, especially to Nintendo; and keep on racing!
