IMPORTANT NOTE!: Please keep in mind that what I'm detailing below is NOT a guarantee.
As I'm sure you all are aware, there have been many people who assumed that Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC may be released in July.
But after having only a XenoBlade Chronicles 3 Direct & a Direct Mini: Partner Showcase in June... after a surfaced July Japanese advertisment for the Booster Course Pass... and after assumptions that it may happen in the week of July 11th through 17th (on account of no scheduled events for Splatoon 2 during its weekend)... Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass has not yet been announced nor released.
Of course, being that Monday will start the final week of July (25th through 31st) before the next month come along, there's still a chance Wave 2 of the Booster Course may be announced & released in July, just like some had speculated.
However... I, on the other, believe that perhaps that news regarding Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (and news on Mario Kart in general, other than for Tour) has been put on hold until next month - August 2022, since that is the month of the Mario Kart Series' 30th Anniversary.
With that in mind, there is a chance we may see more than just Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass in August. It's possible, but NOT a guarantee, that we...
A.) Get a Mario Kart-centric Nintendo Direct for Mario Kart News (MK8DX, Tour, etc.) in celebration of 30 years of Mario Kart, just like Super Mario Bros. got its own Direct back in early September 2020 in celebration of the Super Mario Bros. series' 30th Anniversary.
B.) Get new Mario Kart content, like having more characters like Pauline, vehicles like Wild Wing, wheels / tires, gliders, power-ups, & more for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
And so on.
Some people, such as Nin10doland, have also guessed that Nintendo is taking a bit longer to release the next Booster Course Pass DLC wave is because Nintendo is trying to improve the graphics of the DLC tracks (including & especially the ones from Wave 1 of the Booster Course Pass DLC) & their environments, textures, & so on; but those people did point out that it may not be the case.
And speaking of things that may not be the case, it's important to keep in mind that everything I am speculating should NOT be taken as a guarantee. There's a chance that I could end up being wrong; so take my speculation with a grain of salt.
For now, all we can do is to wait and see what happens. We still got one more week of July before August 2022, the month of the 30th Anniversary of the Mario Kart series, comes along.
In the meantime, if you wish / want to to do so, and/or if you really believe Nintendo needs to add more characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, power-ups, & other content to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe like I do, please sign the petition, share it, & spread the word on why adding more characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, power-ups, & other additional content to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the PERFECT way to celebrate the Mario Kart series' 30th Anniversary.
