As I had assumed, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's 5th Anniversary on April 28th of 2022 has resulted in NO additional content to game.

What was once a day where there could at least a chance for at least some additional content that are NOT new tracks has turned into a missed opportunity.

HOWEVER, as I've said, I had a feeling that may happen.

We still have one more Mario Kart anniversary this year that could serve as a huge chance for more characters vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfits, power ups, & other content to be added into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

And this upcoming Mario Kart Anniversary in particular, coming in around 4 months, just so happens the biggest Mario Kart Anniversary of all (at least until every half-decade to/or full-decade after it).

WHAT'S THAT ANNIVERSARY?!

IT'S... MARIO KART'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY!!

This upcoming anniversary celebrating THREE DECADES of Mario Kart since 1992, the year when Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (famously shortened to SNES), comes on August 27th of 2022.

August 27th was the day where Super Mario Kart was first released in Japan in 1992, leading to the birth & grand debut of the beloved kart racing franchise we now simply know as Mario Kart.

After its release in Japan, it was not long until 5 days later of the same year that Super Mario Kart would be introduced & released to people around the world, releasing in North America on September 1st of 1992; then releasing in the United Kingdom on October of 1992; and finally releasing in Europe on January 21st of 1993.

Because Super Mario Kart AND the birth of the Mario Kart series as a whole took place on August 27th of 1992 (its Japanese release date & grand debut), August 27th of 2022 AND the entire month of August 2022 as a whole will be what to focus on when it comes to Mario Kart's 30th Anniversary.

It would be an even bigger & HUGE missed opportunity if Nintendo does not add characters, vehicles, & the other aforementioned content into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to celebrate 30 years of this beloved racing franchise.

Let's hope Nintendo does takes that into consideration & does add such content into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to celebrate 30 years of Mario Kart, folks!
