Concerned Citizens of Linden and Forest Glen

Thanks again for signing the petition. We have about 70 signatures from concerned citizens. Can you help us get to 100? Please use email and social media to share the petition with your neighbors and friends who live or own property in Linden, Forest Glen Park, National Park Seminary or Lyttonsville. We had an excellent community meeting recently at the national park seminary with all neighborhoods represented. Delegate Carr made a presentation and neighbors had many great comments and questions. Today Delegate Carr will be meeting with the staff of the Maryland National Park and Planning Commission to discuss the idea of bringing commuter rail back to these neighborhoods. Here are some recent comments of petition signers who live in 20910: "I support having more public transportation options and having a station in the neighborhood could help vitalize the area and offer more options" "it's important to offer redundancy in local transit and make use of an existing resource, to complement the Purple Line" "I would like to see a serious examination of a Marc Rail station near Forest Glen Park" "I now work in Baltimore and would love to be able to ride the MARC (even though this line would not go there directly)" "This is an opportunity to get more mass transit within walking distance. Once in a Plan, the community will have ample opportunity to weigh in on specific concerns. Also, our State Delegate, Al Carr has served our interests whenever we ask for his help. Now that he asks for my participation, I trust his judgement and I feel that I owe him my support." "I think it would be great to have a Marc train station in Forest Glen Park off Linden Lane. More people would commute to the Annex if we had a train, and many neighbors including myself would ride it to Union Station." "I support public transportation" "I'm a user of public transportation and want to see more options in walking distance from home." "I believe that this station could be used by workers going to the Forest Glen Annex and by residents commuting to downtown Silver Spring and Washington DC. Smart growth." "Marc in the area would be a great alternative to the metro."
