Over 250 neighbors support affordable housing in Silver Spring

Hey, everyone - As of this morning, over 250 people have expressed their support for building affordable housing at the old Silver Spring Library! Tonight, county officials will hold a public meeting about what to do with the old library at 7pm at the Silver Spring Civic Building (One Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD). No final decisions will be made, but it is a good chance to show your support. Rumors have been circulating saying that this could "put Ellsworth Park in private hands." Let's be clear: that's not true. This is a proposal for the land next to Ellsworth Park, and if housing gets built at the old library, the park will stay exactly as it is and as a public resources for everybody.
