Jeff Simpler is the Vice President of the Monroe Twp (Williamstown NJ) Board of Education. He has made several public statements of hatred against black people, including  RACIST and VIOLENT statements against black people on his Facebook page.  We cannot allow this kind of person to oversee policies regarding black children when this is his mindset. #BlackLivesMatterAtSchool

We as a community should be extremely disappointed in Simpler’s actions, his lack of apology, and our community’s lack of response to this revelation. Our society should not allow actions like this to go unpunished. Based on his actions, Simpler is clearly unfit to remain in his current post on the Monroe Township Board of Education.

Our community should be committed to strengthening and diversifying the curriculum in the Monroe Township, NJ school district. Simpler’s  racist actions represent a failure of our education system as a whole. The Board of Education sets the agenda for the entire school system and, based on his actions, allowing Simpler to keep his seat as Vice President would be a disservice to the entire Monroe Township student body. We believe he is incapable of recognizing the systemic changes that are necessary for our education system to prevent incidents like his own from occurring.
