Moira Demesne play park is used by many children and families across Moira and the wider area. Moira Demesne is a beautiful and much loved space, but the play park has been well used and therefore is tired and has issues.

There are issues with the condition of play park surface as well as some of the equipment. In addition because Moira is growing and is home to many young families there is a very strong case to be made that the park is due for a substantial upgrade.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Council are responsible for our local parks and have stated that they will be carrying out surveys of every local park however there is no clarity on which parks will be listed for upgrades.

I believe strongly that the play park in Moira Demesne should be chosen by the council for an upgrade, including consultation with the park users as to what that upgrade would entail.

Through this petition I am seeking an understanding of the strength of feeling for this.
