Every morning, I find myself anxiously waiting at the bus stop, hoping the school bus arrives on time. As a student relying on Modesto City Schools' transportation system to get to high school, I’ve experienced firsthand the limitations of our current bus service.

This is not just my problem; it’s a challenge faced by many of my peers who depend on school buses to commute daily. The current allocation of funds seems insufficient to adequately support the needs of high school students. 

Statistics underline the importance of reliable school transportation. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, nearly 25 million students across the United States rely on school buses every day. Yet, the allocation of funds for transportation at the high school level often falls short, leading to inconsistent bus schedules and compromised student safety.

We are calling on Modesto City School District to increase funding for the high school bus system. By allocating more resources to transportation, the district can ensure that buses are timely, reliable, and safe, which will contribute to better attendance rates and academic performance among students.
