What seems to be the US’ anti vaccine stance is affecting the potential developments in medicine and science to find a cure for a disease that affects many worldwide. 

The FDA stated that the Moderna vaccine is not the “best-available standard of care”. However, there is currently no best available standard of care. There have been no new medications available for the last several decades. The BioNTech one now appears to be under threat due to the FDA stance. 

I want to make this petition for FDA to kindly rethink their stance. The developments of vaccines and new treatments is crucial for HSV which causes a significant effect on quality of life. 

I want to make this clear: HSV is not just an STI. It can be passed through wrestling, through when giving a peck to the cheek. It affects many worldwide. It can cause blindness. Though rare, it can cause significant implications such as meningitis, encephalitis and death of newborn babies. It can trigger autoimmune conditions. Please sign.
