We are quickly approaching 1100 signatures but want to see more. We ask you continue to share this petition so that we could start to take back our shelters and make them safe havens for animals and not slaughterhouses. A quick update on some of the things that are happening at ACCT-PHILLY since this petition started there has been a number of concerning and questionable practices. There have been instances of dogs that have been euthanized when asked to be held for 24 hours because someone had an interest in been fostering or adopting them. There have been times when dogs have been returned by ACCT Philly approved Fosters within 24 hours, there have been dogs that were adopted out that have been found as strays or returned to the shelter for the reasons that the dogs were originally surrendered. There are instances where there are adoption events and dogs that are time stamped to be killed or not even part of that event. Many questions have been asked as to who the rescues are which should be public information and also questions of who the people are who vet these people. In some cases dogs are being given to people that are no better in some instances than the people who originally surrendered the dogs yet they are left in their care. Today as I am sending this to you there is a blind Rottweiler who was found as a stray who had an adopter that was denied because they had young children in our opinion seeing the types of people that have been approved for foster or adoption through ACCT there is no way this woman should have been denied. The people who do the vetting at this facility have proven time and again that they are incompetent and need to be replaced. This all starts at the top with the director who whiles 10 dogs were on a timestamp list to be euthanized she was out touting the fact to the Philadelphia Inquirer that there was two tortoises that came into the shelter and that they were going to be going to a rescue. While many of you may see this post many times if you're on Facebook or Twitter it is imperative that we continue to share this and have this person removed from the shelter. Her leadership abilities have been proven time and again to be nil and we need someone running shelters that has compassion and the ability to not only Direct a staff but also educate the public on owning animals and the responsibility of having them. Sarah Barnett has proven time and again she is not the person. In closing I want to say thank you to all who have signed this petition already and hope that you will share it again and again until we can see someone in this position that will stand up for Animals rights
