Several people in town depend on their Mobility scooters, end e-scooters for transportation.  Recently a local resident was at the park with her dog, and had her mobility scooter parked on the street and 2 town of Olds bylaw officers were parked behind her within 5 minutes and informed the resident that she couldn't drive her scooter on the street, sidewalk or pathways. The fine for this “offence” is $5000.00 and her mobility scooter would be towed. This is the her (and many other resident’s in town) independence for everything!! She has had a mobility scooter for over 5 years and never had a problem.  Something definitely needs to be done to help the disabled, seniors and resident's who depend on this transportation in our community.

The town hall meeting (in Olds, Alberta) is on Monday June 10, 2024 at 1pm.  I am requesting signatures to show support in town for this transportation to be approved.
