I have experienced living in a dorm with other young men and women in college and the military, I have seen the ocean and traveled on a plane or helicopters, walked on a beach and seen other countries tasted their foods and shared dialog with them. I get so angry and sad that many of our youth will never set foot into a university or college , much less qualify for active military service with a tainted record while in middle or highschool with no diploma in their hand, not even a certificate of a trade. There is no tradeschool, most that graduate have to begin college level work at 6th to 8 th grade level remedial studies for a couple years before becoming a freshman. The only traveling some will do is through the judicial system seeing other places through steel bars or on a medi-vac chopper from injuries or life threatening emergency. Back in 1970's my parents and my family catered to 500 to 700 youth a day at the EL Rito normal tech school cafateria . Then "democrats for progress" ( or so they called themselves) stepped in and decades later here we are. No hope being given to the public! Sad dispair hopelessness / most walking w heads down. We have regressed back in time to the 60's , but even then there were morals.n values with unity. We.must unite! Baby boomers must start retireing to stimulate employment for the youth, and thus go foward with fresh ideas and stratigies of healing our people. What is in place is not working.
