Bubble Zone Law for Halifax Abortion Clinic

The Issue

The goal of this petition is to protect abortion clinics and people going in and out of said clinics. Specifically the Nova Scotia Women's Choice Clinic of Halifax. A Bubble Zone law around this Clinic would help protect patients and employees from threats, obstruction, vandalism, picketing, and other actions including forms of harassment. Legal protection of access to abortion is necessary for the well being and safety of all those involved. Protests and other displays should be restricted to 200 meters away from the clinic property. The clinic in this case is within the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. This amount of distance would help keep displays against abortions well out of sight from the clinic, to avoid additional and unnecessary trauma. Abortion is a legal and safe medical procedure, and those who have chosen this procedure should feel safe from harassment during an already difficult time.
