Friends, My original petition was asking Senator Reid to confirm the US Ambassadors before the Senate went on its August break. They did confirm the US Ambassador to Russia and a couple of others just before leaving, so that's something. But a vote to confirm 19 of the nominees was blocked! We need to continue to call for this to be a priority when the Senate comes back for their September session. With elections coming up, we could make this a campaign issue - how embarrassing and damaging it is when we can't even confirm our Ambassadors in crisis areas!
