Get Rid of Gas Station Slot Machines in Missouri

Get Rid of Gas Station Slot Machines in Missouri
The Issue
My name is Steven Christopher and i am a recovering addict and compulsive gambler. I am writing this petition to urge the Missouri government to take action to get rid of illegal gas station slot machines in our state.
I have seen firsthand the devastating effects that these machines can have on individuals and families. When I was addicted to gambling, I lost everything I had, including my home, my job, and my relationships. I even ended up with criminal charges as a result of my gambling addiction.
Gas station slot machines are particularly harmful because they are so accessible and affordable. People who are struggling with gambling addiction can easily spend hours playing these machines, losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars in a single sitting, I myself have experienced this many different times.
These machines are also harmful to our communities. They contribute to crime, poverty, and social unrest. The money that is lost on these machines is often used to fund other illegal activities, such as drug trafficking and prostitution.
The Missouri government has a responsibility to protect its citizens from the harms of gambling addiction. By getting rid of illegal gas station slot machines, the state can help to reduce crime, improve public safety, and protect vulnerable people.
I urge you to sign this petition to show your support for getting rid of illegal gas station slot machines in Missouri. Together, we can make a difference.

I would like to add that keeping these slot machines is ruining lives. Keeping so many people in poverty and homeless. To keep these machines is showing that the people that "support" us in Washington does not care about the people they represent. But I guess since the owners of these machines are giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to the jokes that represent us they don't care what happens to the people of their state.
