Campaign Update: Our Final Thanks

Dear Supporters, 

We are grateful and heartened to have garnered the support from more than 2,000 of you over the past months. 

We have received URA’s reply as follows:

1             We refer to your email dated 25 April 2019, regarding URA’s plans for the site informally known as Henderson Park.

2             We wish to clarify that the subject site has been zoned for Residential use in the Master Plan since 1980. It is also part of a SERS site that was announced in Nov 2009.

3             Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback on the need for green and open spaces in the area. We wish to assure you that agencies will do their best to integrate such spaces into the landscape and design of the future residential precinct. We will also continue to work with relevant agencies to ensure that Bukit Merah View continues to have adequate facilities to meet the needs of residents.

4             We thank you for your feedback and keen interest in the Bukit Merah View area.

Even though the reply was far from ideal as we hoped for, we believe that by coming together on this platform, our voices were heard by the authority and thus, a difference was made. 

This petition had served its purpose and shall be closed on 30 Sep 2019.
