“My only hope to live was to fight for justice for my daughter but today I am defeated” - said Kiran Negi's mother, as their 10 year long battle for justice ended in defeat. 

Ten years ago in a gut-wrenching incident, 19-year-old Kiran was abducted and brutally gang-raped by 3 men in Delhi. The crime was so gruesome that it shook the entire country to its core!  

After a long battle for justice, the High Court had sentenced Kiran's culprits to death in 2014, but then the matter reached the Supreme Court. In a shocking turn of events, the Supreme Court this week changed this verdict and instead gave a clean chit to the three accused.  

I was speechless when I heard this news. How can the perpetrators of such a heinous crime go free? I know I am not alone when I say that this judgment is insensitive, scary and a matter of national shame! If not them, then who are the real culprits? Whose responsibility is it to find and punish them? Is this the message we want to send to the thousands of other women who are knocking on the courts’ door seeking justice?

We cannot remain silent. We must speak up to ensure that this battle for justice led by Kiran’s family, does not end in defeat. Sign this petition and ask for a CBI Enquiry on Kiran’s case and the SC to hear our Curative Petition.
