COVID-19 Impacts to Proposed Actions & Petition

This is an update to signatories and supporters of the Petition Demanding a Public Inquiry into the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO).

Thank you all for your support thus far. Our numbers continue to grow. Please continue to share with others as we are far from where we would like to be.

Due to the current situation concerning COVID-19, some of the actions that were contemplated for when the weather gets better are going to be delayed. As advised in the last update, potential protests and sit-ins were on the table. These are not currently possible and may not be for awhile. 

Prior to the emergence of COVID-19, the Provincial government was occupied with the teacher's strike and now are obviously very involved with the current circumstance we are in. Anything else at this time is understandably of secondary importance. 

We can still continue to pursue our actions but can work on things that will help when things normalize. This fight was never going to be a short one and it will still remain relevant once we get through the current crisis. 

I wish everyone the best during this Pandemic and hope all of you are being safe. I know these events create additional stress and many may be negatively impacted in various ways and this current situation can even increase harm to those affected in our actions. Just be assured that we are committed to continue this fight.
