Proposed CMRL takeover of suburban MRTS to cause more damage

Dear all, It has just gone from bad to worse. A double-whammy to a triple-whammy. The proposed railway line from Perungudi to Cuddalore is all set to be dramatically altered and the new end will be Chengalpet according to the news article that appeared in The New Indian Express on Friday, 13th July 2018. The ONLY reason given for this is the takeover of the MRTS by CMRL!!! To those who may not be familiar with the geography, the two locations are 50kms apart! Therefore, to get to Perungudi from Cuddalore, one has to now take the train to Chengalpet, then travel an additional one and half hours by another suburban train and then the proposed metro! This is ridiculous in the extreme that those lobbying for metro are willing to cause so much disruption just to generate additional revenue for CMRL. Request all of you to share this petition once again to get more signatures. Many more needed to make the Government take notice that this takeover does nothing good for the people.
