Petition updateStop the demolition of the Te Urewera Visitor Centre at Aniwaniwa.
Strong Lobbying is still occurring

Historic Places Aotearoa Incorporated

7 Sept 2016
The NZ Institute of Architects and Historic Places Aotearoa are continuing to lobby the Ministers about this matter and your support is important to us in this matter.
We are very thankful that Jacinda Ardern has taken the time to read the correspondence that has been copied to her and is working with us to try and set up a meeting with Maggie Barry.
While DOC contractors are working on the demolition, this will take time as they are looking to salvage material from the building, but time is obviously running out for the Visitor Centre. It can be saved assuming the Minister finally starts to listen to the evidence that is being presented to her.
Please keep sharing the petition as everyone that signs means another email to the Minister and DOC staff.
The image of the building attached to this update was taken by David Straight last weekend, just prior to the demolition starting. www.davidstraight.net
