Dear friends,
 
Happy new year! We’ve done it – we’re finally civil partners in law. We feel relieved, elated and most of all thankful. Without your encouragement and support, we could never have reached this milestone.

When we signed the Register yesterday at Kensington and Chelsea Register Office, it was a unique, special and personal moment for us: a moment when we were able to affirm our love and commitment to one another in the company of our beautiful children, Eden and Ariel, and close friends, and have that love and commitment given legal form. 

Congratulations to those of you who also formed civil partnerships yesterday or are planning them soon. We love hearing your stories, so please keep sharing them on Twitter using #ADateToCelebrate.

We have gained so much through the years of campaigning: new friends, skills - even notoriety - but also confidence that we can change things for the better. After a short break, we firmly intend to put these experiences to good use, and are carefully considering what’s next. We’ll be in touch.
