Hello fantastic supporters, Wow, the momentum behind the campaign for equal civil partnerships just keeps building! The Isle of Man has shown how easy and quick it is to extend civil partnerships to all. There, different-sex couples can now civilly partner and same-sex couples can marry, establishing full relationship equality. Now pressure is really mounting on the rest of the British Isles to follow suit. Not only that but the issue is rising up the agenda in Scotland too. The Humanist Society Scotland issued a statement saying that “part of the journey to equality would be to allow mixed-sex couples access to civil partnerships.” And the Equality Network, a large LGBTIQ campaign based in Scotland, strengthened that call by saying, “civil partnership exists, works well, and there is continuing demand, so let's keep it as a choice, and make it fairly available to all". Hear hear! We’re winning in the court of public opinion too: A recent Daily Telegraph poll showed an overwhelming 82% of respondents in favour of allowing opposite-sex couples’ access to civil partnerships.
