First, as of last week, same-sex couples in the Isle of Man can now marry and different-sex couples can become civil partners. That makes the Isle of Man the first - and so far only - place within the British Isles where same-sex and different-sex couples can both enter civil partnerships. Hooray Isle of Man! Now come on the rest of the British Isles!!! In the wider world we now have a new Prime Minister and a new Minister for Women and Equalities, Justine Greening MP, giving us a unique opportunity to secure legal protection for different-sex couples. The Equal Civil Partnerships Campaign also has a new manager, Matt Hawkins. Matt will be meeting with politicians to explain why extending civil partnerships to all is fair, popular and good for children and families.
