Proposal to Rename Changi Airport Handed to Minister Lui

Remembering LKY
Singapore, Singapore

Apr 7, 2015 — Dear supporters,

The online petition was closed on 30th March 2015. Some time was taken to compile close to 12,500 signatures garnered between 25-30 March 2015 as well as the many heartfelt comments. They were handed over to Minister Lui Tuck Yew at the Ministry of Transport in the morning of 7 April 2015.

Minister Lui thanked all supporters for the effort taken to bring forth this proposal. He will bring this up to the government for consideration.

As we know, there have been many good suggestions made by our fellow Singaporeans to remember and honour the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Given this submission, the idea of renaming the airport will get the same considerations as other ideas. I am sure it will not be a rushed decision, and indeed, it should not be. This will likely take some time before any decision is made.

Thank you.
