Making Progress for the Film and TV Industry

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for signing my petition. I heard from the CEO of the Business Council of Australia who is dealing with the Treasurers office for us and I spoke with the office of the Minister for the Arts, Paul Fletcher today as well as delivered my update - and we are making progress.
Interestingly an article came out in the SMH yesterday (thanks Ross Howden) showing that this type of taxation based thinking is exactly what the Govt is looking for.
We have to remember that legacy films such as Mad Max 2, The Man from Snowy River and Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2 would not have been funded without the 10BA tax incentive of the era. And now times are far more desperate and incentives far more crucial.
Anyway, I am confident that we can get this through and believe that the ensuing private sector investment will generate significant job opportunities for the industry which will insulate it through the upcoming recession.
So we're making progress and I urge you all to promote this petition to your network to help make it happen.
Thank you for your support,
James
