Wexford says STOP to HSE cuts and shortcomings.

Wexford says STOP to HSE cuts and shortcomings.
The Issue
The HSE plan to cut four newly-qualified doctors at Wexford General Hospital is indefensible.
In a time of salary increases to the CEO of the HSE to the tune of €49,966 and a proposed salary increase to the new Secretary General in the Dept of Health of €80,000, news has emerged that Wexford General Hospital will lose 4 intern Doctors from its staff if a proposed HSE plan goes ahead.
For the last 12 months we have been constantly told that the Covid restrictions are necessary to ensure the HSE can cope yet the HSE seem to be planning to cut staff again. This is detrimental to the care of post-surgical inpatients at Wexford General Hospital. The risk that post-operative patients will not receive the care they need is astonishing.
This a slap in the face to the people of Wexford and the entire staff of Wexford General Hospital, who will face a massive increase in their workload because of this measure. The proposed cut is reprehensible & indefensible.
County Wexfords CAMHS service is now 3 years without a full time child psychologist. The service is also without a full time paediatric dietician. Our childrens mental health care is being put on long finger with one empty promise after the next.
Wexford says STOP to the HSE. STOP these reprehensible proposed cuts to frontline staff at our hospital and STOP making excuses and empty promises around the mental health crisis of our young children. STOP the cuts now and take the necessary steps to safeguard Wexford General Hospital and the health care of the people of Wexford. STOP with the empty promises and properly staff our CAMHS unit to allow for the correct mental health care of our children.
