Mojang Studios announces a new approach to update numbering. From now on, versions 1.x.x and XXwXXa are a thing of the past. They are being replaced by a new numbering system: YR.x and YR.x-snapshot-x, respectively. I don't condemn this approach or call for its repeal. On the contrary, I applaud this decision. I'm just concerned about one tiny detail:

1.22, a major update that was supposed to come out in 2026-2028. Now... what? What about the version we've all been waiting for? We all believed with our hearts that every little drop was actually 1.22. Now major updates are no different from minor ones except for their content.

I urge, if not to separate major updates from drops in a new numbering system (e.g., YR-Major-Drop-Hotfix), then at least to release 1.22, to please players and bring life back to a once-vibrant game, mired in a thirst for popularity and a desire to bring back veterans because of Agnes.

I hope you'll sign my petition, which Mojang probably won't even notice, but it will at least make me happier. Thank you =)
