Ask your Milwaukee alderperson to support new proposed mask requirement!

Covid cases, hospitalizations and deaths are surging to new heights today, but the City of Milwaukee mask requirement you supported in 2020 has expired!

Fortunately, two Milwaukee alderwomen — Marina Dimitrijevic and JoCasta Zamarripa — are now cosponsoring a new ordinance requiring face coverings for anyone over three years old in buildings open to the public.

"It will protect some of our employees, and again, we've said all along, people should be masked in indoor public spaces, and this is a way to make sure that happens," Milwaukee Health Commissioner Kirsten Johnson said recently.

The proposal was endorsed by the Milwaukee Common Council’s Public Safety and Health Committee last week and comes up for a full Common Council vote next week Tuesday (Jan. 18).
