For more than a century, the winding Ravine Road has served as a pleasure drive, connecting residents across the East Side and from all neighborhoods of Milwaukee to Lake Park and the lakefront.

This was the intent of the park's design - access for everyone.

Despite the drive's history, Milwaukee County is considering a number of alternatives, including turning the road into a bike and/or pedestrian pathway. LPF believes the park is sufficiently served by such paths.

In keeping with this concept of inclusion, and sensitive to nearby neighbor concerns, the Board of Directors of Lake Park Friends unanimously adopted a resolution that calls for retaining the road, with possible closure at times. The resolution can be found at the Lake Park Friends website, www.lakeparkfriends.org under "news".

Please sign this petition and join Lake Park Friends in urging Milwaukee County to retain beautiful Ravine Road for its traditional use as a pleasure drive for all Milwaukeeans to use and enjoy.
