The Milton Selectboard reached out last night and let me know the following:

- the Flatley Company’s billboard request is a new one for Milton…so town officials are looking further into billboard issues generally

- The Selectboard wants the public to know there will be further meetings and opportunities for public input…they are doing due diligence 

- the Selectboard will give a brief update at their December 8, 2021 meeting stating the above, but they have a full agenda and this will likely not be heard until after December  22, 2021

My comment:

     Please contact your elected officials and let them know we need the Milton Selectboard’s support to stop the billboards.  Here are just a few reasons:

  1. They lower property values, which damage homeowners and reduces property tax profits in the long run

  2.  They degrade the appearance and character of the city and/or town

  3.  They pose a safety hazard through driver distractions (think about what a kite festival at        PJP does to the expressway)

  4.  They harm local ecosystems
