Say No to Proposed CN Rail Yard

The Issue

Petition CN and the Transport Minister to move the proposed Intermodal Terminal to a suitable industrial area

CN plans to build a 400-acre intermodal facility in Milton close to residential area, between Britannia and Lower Base Line, east of Tremaine road (yes, towards the urban population). These are designed to transfer cargo containers between rail cars and trucks.- This 24/7 operation will see a truck enter or leave every minute, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- It will be approximately 3 km in length but will employ only a handful of people.
- It will consume 400 acres of prime real-estate that otherwise would’ve generated millions in taxes that rest of us will now have to cover.
- The facility will move hundreds of truck-loads of material (including industrial and hazardous material) 24 hours a day, surrounded by residential area
