Stop the development of KFC at Wavendon Gate

Stop the development of KFC at Wavendon Gate
The Issue
Plans have been approved for a drive-through KFC by the only entrance of the Morton Park housing estate.
As residents, we are opposing this as we do not believe the procedures have been correctly and fairly followed for the following reasons:
- No notice was seen by any resident and Council states it was presented during a national lockdown where people were advised to stay indoors.
- Residents did not receive letters notifying them of the planned development.
- The case officer report does not address the environmental concerns in full and the residents feel the mentioned but not concluded major concerns of noise, odour, littering, anti-social behaviour and light pollution are not going to be effectively managed.
- As the proposed development is at the only entrance and exit to the estate, traffic is a serious concern of which has not been properly addressed. Given the additional development of dwellings still taking place, this issue is increasing.
- From the case officer report, it seems the environmental concerns are addressed based on the number of dwellings originally on the estate when the application first was submitted. The estate is significantly larger now (and growing) and residents don't feel like the report addresses the fact the issues are not going to be managed in the same way.
Residents ask Council to review the application in light of the current circumstances.
