Important Meeting - Tonight at 18:30 streamed live on YouTube!

Blakelands Residents Association
1 Dec 2020

At 18:30 tonight, the Milton Keynes Council Audit Committee will hold a special meeting to discuss the external review into the Blakelands warehouse. This will be a virtual meeting that can be watched live on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvH9yjseBAc

The Blakelands Residents Association presented the petition you all kindly signed at last week's Full Council meeting. Yvonne kindly spoke on behalf of all of you to seek the a new audit into the Blakelands warehouse. We were told that the petition will be discussed tonight.

Marc Dorfman has released his "preliminary findings" into the Blakelands warehouse. This can be read here - https://docdro.id/BrTrOnf The findings are full of factual errors, inconsistencies and general mistakes. There has been no report produced as apparently Marc Dorfman has been unable to write one. Again, no explanation has been given.

The BBC have covered the preliminary findings and in the words of the former Development Control Committee Chair, Cllr John Bint, the document produced by Marc Dorfman is not "fit for purpose" - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-54992810 We fully support and endorse those comments.

The Blakelands Residents Association have produced a 17 page response (a rebuttal) to Marc Dorfman's preliminary findings setting the record straight. You can read our detailed response here - https://docdro.id/JVX4HIg

The background papers for tonight's meeting can be found on the Milton Keynes Council website - https://milton-keynes.cmis.uk.com/milton-keynes/Calendar/tabid/70/ctl/ViewMeetingPublic/mid/397/Meeting/6784/Committee/1352/SelectedTab/Documents/Default.aspx

We have a number of speakers and questions lined up for tonight's meeting. We would encourage as many of you as possible to watch tonight's meeting. It is certainly going to be an interesting meeting and one which Milton Keynes Council are placed under significant scrutiny.

Thank you all once again for your continued support. We will keep pushing for answers and for the truth to come out.
