Last year in Connecticut alone 1,000 lives were lost to the opioid epidemic.  The origins of this deadly and destructive epidemic can be clearly traced back the criminal actions of Stamford-based Purdue Pharma and its founding family, the Sackler's.  Purdue Pharma donated large sums of money to political actors and other projects and organizations, one such beneficiary was the Mill River Park Collaborative.  To commemorate Purdue's sponsorship, the Collaborative installed a memorial stone in the park.  Please sign this petition if you believe the Collaborative should remove the memorial stone from the park and publicly denounce Purdue Pharma.

Purdue Pharma has ruined lives, families, and decimated entire communities.  Purdue Pharma acted with impunity for years, but now faces a public reckoning.  We demand our local institutions, like the Mill River Collaborative, uphold the values of our community and stand on the right side of history and against the criminal actions of Purdue Pharma.  Purdue Pharma is a stain on the community and their name has no place in our park.
