The proposed trail has been surveyed and planned by the county surveyor and planner.
The proposed walk/bike trail will start at the southern point of North Longshore drive, extend north to 200S, then at the bridge turn East, run parallel to 200S to the old Mill Creek School. Total length is approximately two miles.
At the North end of paved Longshore Drive begins an undeveloped county roadway easement that extends to the marsh. The marsh portion of the proposed route is owned by GEMarshallConstruction out of Valparaiso. They have consented to an easement for the trail to 200S at the bridge. This easement would run along their property line on the West and Northside of parcel 461216126002000055. The trail portion from the bridge to the old Mill Creek School is under study as to the best route.
