Honduras Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal

Honduras Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal
The Issue
We are asking Military Veterans Advocacy to take our case to Congress. They will if we get 400 signatures. Please help us!
United States military operations in Honduras from 1981 to 1992 affected more than 300,000 service members and their families but no Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (AFEM) was ever issued by the U.S. Government. This inaction resulted in no Gold Star family recognition, limited medical and disability benefits for the wounded and much more. Two Prisoner of War medals were issued and at least three other service members were Killed In Action. A known forty-five Purple Hearts were awarded, countless terrorist attacks occurred directly involving American forces on the ground, in the seas and above the air space of Honduras and supporting countries. More than seventy service members in total were killed during combat or support operations.
We are requesting help from Military Veterans Advocacy INC in assisting us in petitioning the U.S Congress to create a specific AFEM recognizing service in Honduras in support of military operations from 1981 to 1992 in defeating the terrorist and communists threats that existed in Central America during this dangerous period.
Creating the Honduras AFEM would have a profound impact on all those who served and their families. A personal and familial acknowledgement from the U.S Government alone would have a deep personal and positive impact. Creating the Honduras AFEM would then result in the issuance of Gold Stars to the families of those lost, make it easier to be awarded disability and VA benefits for the veterans of this conflict and finally recognize our contributions in this effort.
