Good news: 20mph agreed in principle!

I am pleased to share that a 20mph scheme on the streets outside St. John's School, Sevenoaks has been agreed in principle by Kent County Council! A big thank you to everyone who signed and supported the petition to date. 

The petition was initially presented and discussed at the September Joint Transportation Board meeting and we have just returned from the March meeting where it was discussed again tonight. 

A visual petition with contributions from every child at St. John's School was displayed at the meeting, a big thank you to all the kids for their amazing artwork! It definitely made an impression on the Councillors.  

Thank you also to Margaret Crabtree, Kent County Councillor for Sevenoaks Town who has supported the scheme and agreed to contribute to the funding. 

The next stage will be a public consultation which will include determining the exact area to be included, as long as this goes well the scheme should be implemented by March 2021 at the latest. Further progress updates to follow.
