Remember last August 22nd, when the state of Missouri came within 5 hours of executing a man named Marcellus Williams - after DNA showing his innocence was left unheard by the Missouri Supreme Court? 274,000 of you compelled Missouri Governor Eric Greitens to issue a stay of execution for Marcellus shortly after we delivered your signatures to his office. Community leaders and organizations including Amnesty International, the Catholic Mobilizing Network, and the ACLU all joined MADP's call here to save Marcellus' life, and so many of you made calls to the governor and rallied your friends that afternoon. Marcellus is still on Missouri's death row, and in the past 8 months, the governor-appointed board of retired judges has met twice, reviewing thousands of pages of transcripts, evidence, and appeals Now we have learned the board will meet again to review Marcellus' case on Tuesday, June 5.
