Ohio and Texas both went forward with two executions this week. Ronald Phillips and TaiChin Preyor are dead, and we must ask how killing these broken men who were denied justice themselves makes anything better. The United States' continued use of the death penalty is barbaric -- the majority of executions around the world occur in China, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. The death penalty is a human rights issue, and we have an obligation to end this practice.
