This is a petition to Microsoft and Xbox to help get Shenmue III released on the Xbox One.

Of course many of us are delighted to even have this game in the first place, for PS4 and PC. However, there are a lot of Xbox Shenmue fans who are desperate to see Shenmue III appear on the Xbox One. A good core market of die-hard fans who are forced to make a choice between PlayStation and Xbox, because of no Xbox One version in sight. We are saying, it should be available for BOTH fanbases to experience, same as what happened with the Shenmue I&II releases.

Shenmue II came out originally on the first Xbox console and sold less than what was achieved on the SEGA Dreamcast. On the brilliant, but ill fated Dreamcast system, the original Shenmue sold well in excess of a million copies, one of the few titles to do so successfully. For Xbox, the decision to bring it there was rushed, with SEGA's demise at the time. Also and here is the big point, Shenmue II arrived for Xbox without its original game. Fans had to watch a movie for a recap of what happened to begin with. Fans want to play titles not watch them, thus explaining the lukewarm reception some think it received.

With the release of Shenmue III due as of August 27th 2019, hopes for many are running out. It has been said that Xbox One sales of Shenmue I&II were poor. But many educated fans would've opted for PS4 & PC, knowing that currently they are the only destination for the game. This in no way proves that Xbox One sales would be inferior to PS4, rather that Xbox is missing out on a lot of potential.

In other words, there is a market for this game on the Xbox One. And in all seriousness , regardless of petty fanwars, Shenmue III warrants an Xbox One release.

Being a legacy title, with Shenmue II coming out on the Original Xbox, the game has a targeted market with many SEGA fans who switched allegiances to that system, after the fall of the Dreamcast.

We are asking for Xbox to seriously consider adding Shenmue III to their great collection of gaming titles for the Xbox One. Ideally, we would like to see it either not ruled out, or a direct confirmation of it happening in future.

There is no hate for PlayStation or PC, only respect. However we do feel Xbox fans deserve a chance to play this game also. With the Shenmue I&II ports by SEGA, making both PS4 and Xbox One, we would like to think common sense will prevail from all parties and that a satisfactory conclusion can be met, to please all gamers.
