During a deceitful marketing initiative, created and publicised by Microsoft, it was promised that a Crossplay feature would become a standard for all first party Xbox One games, with the specific application to facilitate a network connection between Console and PC gamers, during competitive and cooperative play, online.

This feature was incredibly well received and was promised to include the online versus mode, in the upcoming Gears of War 4, which was the only mode likely to benefit from the feature, being that without it, Versus would become nothing more than a menu placeholder. However, the aggressive marketing failed to mention that this would be the only mode to abstain from the feature, despite a misleadingly similar one being a listed on their store front as we speak.

The response from the developers has been a totally avoidable cliche of an excuse, with the Coalition claiming that the game would become unbalanced due to the heightened precision of the PC players using their keyboard/mouse setup, versus a controller, missing the opportunity for an optional mode which requires PC players connect a controller to join allowing for all players to be on equal grounds, regardless of platform.

To apply some context, Microsoft has brought this franchise to PC twice before abandoning it instantly, as if to exploit PC gamers for a quick buck. For more context, the current state of Versus on PC, sees substantial wait times and incredibly unbalanced play for players who play with a controller, while Xbox players enjoy balance play and lightning fast matchmaking.

My petition simply asks of Microsoft and The Coalition to do right by their fans and customers and fulfil their promise. To bring Crossplay to versus, thus preventing the premature death of an online mode so pivotal to their franchise.

I would like to see the option to choose between crossplay versus, or standard in the main menu and no lack of modes to choose from when choosing between the two. As I and many others also care about balance, I would like to see crossplay only accessible if a controller is plugged in as player 1.

Please make this happen, speaking on behalf of all PC gamers, you owe us big time.
