On October 29th, 2018 Darius Stewart was at his son's football game when a altercation broke out involving his girlfriend. An off duty police officer tried to defuse the situation by using unnecessary force on her, this officer was not in uniform. Darius tried to break up the altercation when that same officer started to use unnecessary force on him. He was arrested and charged with Assault on an official and was given no bond. He went to court on February 14th, 2019 and received a 20 year sentence for just assault no other convictions. There is no legitimate reason to sentence Darius Stewart the maximum of 20 years for "alleged" assault on an officer. The officer was off duty doing side work as security making him a private citizen. Daruis Stewart is a loving father, brother, uncle and friend who deserves to be at home with his loved ones.
