Justice for Animals Ireland

The Issue

There is a urgent need for Government funding for charities across Ireland to be able to get an inspector in every county! Charities only have enough funding for a small team of inspectors (9), making it impossible to enforce the law effectively across the country, ( over €16 million is given to the greyhound industry each year while less than €3 million has to be shared amongst all of the hard working animal welfare groups across Ireland )

New laws should be drafted to make it a more serious offence to steal a family pet, The penalty for pet theft should be more severe than for the theft of a non-living property

Much stricter enforcement of laws is needed when it comes to cases of animal cruelty, and a ban on owning animals is needed for those found guilty

Introduce a legislative ban on the use of cages for laying hens. Keeping laying hens in cages for their entire life is incompatible with the government’s own animal welfare strategy

All out ban on bloodsports, puppy farming, and animal testing.

Although Ireland has made progress in recent years

✅ Fur farming has been banned

✅ The use of Wild Animals in circuses has been banned

there is still a long way to go! But together we can make a change!
