The Kent County Council consultation on introducing 20 mph speed limits in Sevenoaks town CLOSES TODAY, at 23:59 on the evening of November 10. Thank you once again to everyone who has completed the consultation.

If you or others in your household have not responded please do so: it is vital that you complete the consultation to register your support for the scheme, to give everyone safer streets, cleaner air, reduced emissions, a calmer, more pleasant street environment and more encouragement to walk or cycle. Journey times will stay basically the same and such schemes usually save money overall within one or two years.

The scheme also includes a much needed zebra crossing on Dartford Road at the Vine. The crossing is supported by a minor traffic realignment at the war memorial to slow downhill traffic as it approaches the crossing, and remove a fast merging junction which would have the potential to distract drivers just before they reach the crossing.
