Sevenoaks town 20mph final consultation - please make your voice heard

Thank you for signing this petition in 2021, for a 20mph zone in central Sevenoaks. Because of this, Kent County Council Highways ran a consultation late last year on setting this up, received local feedback and have therefore put forward a final scheme. This is supported by the Town Council, and is out for consultation now until 14 December (Thursday). 

This scheme will reduce the number and severity of crash injuries, encourage active travel, reduce emissions, improve air quality, reduce noise pollution, reduce the impact of traffic and save money. It will make no noticeable difference to journey times in this built up area. It reflects the demand for lower speeds from schools, residents associations and thousands of people across five separate petitions. 

It also reflects the feedback from the 20mph consultation last year, now with no changes to street layouts, and with the scope focused on a core Sevenoaks town area of 1.5 square miles which covers 12 schools and the central shopping streets.
