We are at 1562, which is incredible. Over the last few days, however, the petition has had almost no visibility. We need to get it back into the mix.
A study done in 2012 found that of 73,000 teachers working for the DOE, 76 percent of them were women. This issue affects a TON of people. Also, it isn't just a teacher issue, is what I'm learning (thanks to all of you.) It affects all other employees under the UFT who work for the DOE, paraprofessionals, therapists, counselors...the list goes on.
Try your best to take a moment or two to keep getting the word out there. Share with your co-workers, friends, post on any parent groups you belong to. If you have any media connections, share it with them. You also have the option to promote the page by donating $10. For every $10, Change.org promotes the page to 1,000 potential supporters.
Imagine if we can make a difference? How many women and children would have such a giant weight lifted off of their shoulder? I'm not about to give up this fight.
