Today, thanks to a freedom of information request from Tim Farron, it has been revealed that the UK environmental department uses 1,400 disposable coffee cups a day. The former Lib Dem leader said “It’s astounding that the department which is supposed to be protecting our environment is responsible for such a colossal amount of waste” It shows that, more than ever, the government needs to wake up to this mounting problem.
