This is a brief summary of what transpired in Radio Mambi's program on incorporation yesterday, Friday 02/18 from 4 to 6 PM.
The conductor of the program, Lourdes Ubieta, made a point several times that she had called, emailed, left messages at Commissioner Souto's office and they never responded to the invitation to participate in this discussion. She interviewed Anthony Rodriguez, the state representative, who wants to be a candidate for the seat Souto is vacating and he waffled, "No I don't like incorporation" but "let's listen to what the MAC proposes." As far as he knew waiving the County Code is not illegal but he doesn't really know the process of incorporation.
She also interviewed Marta Bueno, also a future candidate for Souto's seat, was very emphatic and said she was against the incorporation move. They both said that at the end of the day, we the voters will have the last word at the polls. Many calls were not taken, the lines were busy all the time. The callers that made it all said NO to incorporation.
