Closing shelter doors to vulnerable people trying to seek a safe place to stay is unacceptable. This friendship centre has acknowledged that they have known they needed to restructure the emergency shelter but have chosen to do so in the middle of Winter - an especially dangerous time for people without safe shelter to go to. We need to stand united to say that this is not something that can happen! Housing IS a human right, housing IS healthcare, housing IS essential and we need to demand more from our social resources!!
