It's 2 Month Since the Grenfell Fire - Justice is Still Not Served

Dear Supporter, Monday marked the 2 month anniversary of the Grenfell tower fire that took our dear friend and colleague Khadija Saye and too many other innocent victims from us. To mark this day, Justice4Grenfell organised a Silent March to remember those lost in the fire and to remember that the fight for justice for the dead, the missing, those who lost their homes and their loved ones continues! A few of the artists and curators of the Diasapora Pavilion attended this along with hundreds of others. We moved silently along the streets around the Lancaster West Estate, along Ladbroke Grove and back around to congregate at the under the Westway community hub. Here many victims. family members, friends and neighbours made powerful speeches, letting all know that the fight for justice for Grenfell continues. There will be a Silent March on the 14th of every month until justice is served. This was the day before the terms of the inquiry to be conducted by Sir Martin Moore- Bick were published. Below are the terms of the inquiry: - The cause and spread of the fire - The design, construction and refurbishment of Grenfell Tower - The scope and adequacy of the relevant regulations relating to high-rise buildings - Whether the relevant legislation and guidance were complied with in the case of Grenfell Tower - The actions of the local authority and other bodies before the tragedy - The response of the London Fire Brigade to the fire and the response of central and local government in the aftermath. Residents, Campaigners and loved ones are still calling for a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION! There is a lack of confidence in the inquiry and a concern about how deeply Kensington and Chelsea Council will be scrutinised. We need to keep an eye on this and show our support for the campaign for Justice. We need to continue to hear your voices. We support an inquiry, though the terms may need broadening to look much more deeply into the social housing polices of Kensington and Chelsea Council, but we are asking for a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION because the devastation that happened two months ago, that has a community traumatised, in mourning, wondering if this could have been prevented and now fighting for JUSTICE, is criminal!
